FAQs

I live outside London.

At the present time test drives are available from our main location in central London.

We can supply vehicles anywhere in the UK with a bespoke local servicing and warranty support.

We're rapidly expanding across the UK so look out for new locations opening in your area.

I live outside the UK

NICE is currently expanding into a number of European locations.

If you live in North America, we are sorry! As with many other European vehicles, specific legislation currently prevents the sale of our electric vehicles within North America.

What incentives are there for driving an electric vehicle?

There are a host of benefits when you make the move to electric and they are increasing all the time. How about:

  • Exemption from road tax
  • Exempt for congestion charging in London
  • Free parking in central London and a number of other locations around the UK
  • Reduced or free residents parking fees in many areas
  • Free charging at a growing number of on-street charge points
  • Minimal running costs - generally around a few pence per mile
  • Low cost of ownership. There's no need to buy petrol or diesel again
  • With exhaust, engine oil, head gasket or sparkplugs, maintenance is significantly cheaper.
  • For business users there also a range of tax incentives to reward your choice!

How do I charge it?

With the exception of the larger commercial vehicles, all our cars can be charged from a normal three pin socket at home, at work or at any of a growing number of public charge points around the UK. Charge leads come as standard and there are a range of optional council-approved cables available if required for use at public charge points.

The number of public charge points is growing rapidly. If you're unsure of what's available in your area contact your local council's environment team. Alternatively electricparking.com provides the up to date location of car parks, charging points and their tariffs in and around London.

If you are an employer or run your own business you may have the space to install a simple outdoor socket and create a charge location for your business or your employee's car. And the energy Savings Trust may even help you with a small grant!

Can I remove the batteries to charge them inside my house?

Sorry, but no. The batteries are secured in the car and can only be removed by a qualified technician. Besides they weigh over 300 Kg, so you probably wouldn't want to be carrying them around.

How do I charge it if I don't have off-street parking at home?

It might also be possible to charge the car at work - its amazing how many employers are now installing sockets for electric vehicles. It's cheap and simple to fit an external socket and a full charge will generally cost less than the postage for an A4 letter. Quite a few forward-looking employers are providing charging points for their staff.
